Sundus Ahmed is a trauma-informed therapist dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, relationship challenges, identity transitions, and burnout. She works with those carrying not only the visible demands of daily life but also the quieter, often unspoken weight of past wounds and cultural expectations.
Sundus is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). She earned her Bachelor of Science from Queens College (CUNY) and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School, where she is also pursuing her PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. She additionally holds a certification in Neuropsychology and has completed advanced training in psychiatric rehabilitation.
Her professional contributions extend beyond the therapy room. As the founder of Mindroute Therapy, she integrates clinical care with organizational consulting and leadership development. Internationally, she has partnered with Caravan of Life in Karachi, where she conducted a comprehensive SWOT analysis to guide program expansion and strengthen psychiatric rehabilitation services for individuals living with severe and persistent mental health conditions. In the U.S., she serves as a facilitator for Acquisition Initial Leadership Development (AILD) and collaborates with organizations such as the Asiyah Center and Women2Women Platform to advance trauma-informed advocacy and expand access to care.
Her therapeutic approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychoanalytic perspectives, and organizational psychology, offering clients a balance of structure and compassion. With couples and families, she adopts a systems-oriented lens, helping to untangle entrenched relational patterns, repair emotional distance, and foster relationships grounded in honesty and empathy.
Clients frequently describe Sundus as steady, perceptive, and deeply engaged, someone who listens for what is spoken and unspoken, and who creates a space where meaningful and lasting change can take root.
